Private Hike into Norway’s Heritage Landscape

For those who want to experience the fjords rather than simply see them.

Tafjord is a place many visitors to Norway never get to know. Tucked away between steep mountains and deep fjords, life here has always been closely connected to the landscape.

On this private four-hour hike, we invite you to experience some of it with us.

There is no fixed route. Your local guide chooses the walk according to the weather, the conditions and the people in the group. Some days we may walk higher for the views. Other days, a quieter trail closer to the fjord may be the better choice. Wherever we go, the aim is the same: to give you time to experience the landscape rather than rush through it.

As we walk, your guide will share stories from Tafjorden and the surrounding area – about nature, local life and what it has been like to live between these mountains and the fjord. There is time to stop when something catches your attention, take photographs, ask questions or simply enjoy the quiet.

Somewhere along the way, we will find a good place to sit down and taste a few local flavours. Nothing elaborate – just something from the area to taste while we enjoy the view. Remember to let us know if you have any food allergies we need to take into account.

This is a small and personal experience, with no more than eight guests. You don't need to be an experienced hiker, but you should be comfortable walking outdoors for a few hours. We adjust the route and pace to the group and to the conditions on the day. Hiking poles can be borrowed on request.

The experience includes
• Around three to four hours with a private local guide
• A hike personally chosen for the day and your group
• Stories about Tafjorden, its nature and local life
• A selection of local tastes along the way
• Maximum 8 guests
• Flexible start, but we recommend to meet the guide at coordinated destination at 10:00 am.
• Private transport to and from your hotel can be arranged for an additional cost

Come with good shoes and a little curiosity. We'll take care of the rest.

Prices for private tours 2027:

  • 8900 NOK for 1-3 guests
